What's Included/What to BringThe following information is to help answer some of your questions as you prepare to travel and to make your stay in Colorado more comfortable. It is helpful to know that Colorado has a "dry climate" so be prepared for dry skin and chapped lips. We have some solutions for these problems when you arrive (we do not endorse lipsticks, glosses, or perfumed lotions because they are toxic). The weather varies depending on the season, so please pack accordingly. Casual dress is appropriate for all activities, you will need to bring clothing that can be layered (t-shirts, sweaters, vests) and a comfortable pair of walking shoes (possibly snow boots and a robe in the winter). You will be walking outside from your room to the classroom each day. You will have the option of attending a church service on Sunday and there will be a banquet meal during the session. There is no access to a washer or dryer so bring enough clothing for your entire stay. All of your linens will be provided (sheets, towels, wash-cloths, blankets, etc.) along with an alarm clock and radio/audio cassette/CD player. We also provide some toiletries such as a bar of soap, air freshener, kleenex, etc (we prefer you do not use perfumed toiletries as they are toxic). You will need to bring any other toiletries you feel are necessary (for example: hair dryer). You may want to bring a camera, family photos, stamps, post cards, letter writing supplies, note pad and paper for taking notes. It is very important that you bring an adequate supply of any prescription drugs you are taking to get you through your stay at the Lodge. Bring any supplements you are taking so Dave can test to see if your body values them. Our staff is small, so there will not be anyone available to run errands should you run out of daily care items, so plan ahead carefully. You are within walking distance to local area shops (Safeway and Longs Drugs), and there is also a bus stop right outside our facility. Focus on eating raw fruits and vegetables throughout Saturday and Sunday. Our staff will have your first juice prepared immediately upon your arrival. Your fast will begin on Monday morning; please avoid eating any foods after 6:00pm Sunday night. Family and friends will not be allowed to make in-coming calls during your stay at the Lodge. This will allow for the rest that you need. You may call out of the Lodge by placing collect telephone calls or using your personal phone card. Phone calls cannot be billed to your room and paid later. You may bring a cell phone to use during your stay, but please do not bring it to class with you. All personal mail should be sent to the HealthQuarters office at 3620 West Colorado Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO 80904, and will be delivered to you on a daily basis, except for weekends (this includes flowers or packages). All inquiries or messages from family and friends should be directed to HealthQuarters office phone, 719-593-8694. You may also use our FAX (719) 531-7884 to keep in touch. All such messages will be delivered to the Lodge daily except on weekends. Our Lodge has become a gathering place for people from all over the country and the world, where they come to learn and begin to put into practice diet and lifestyle changes. Please note that our lodge is actually a rustic motel, built in the approximately the 1930's. We are in the process of refurbishing. The facility is not luxurious, but rather a quaint place to learn the benefits of fasting and detoxification. We’re delighted you are joining our ever-growing number. |
